Meet the Maker!

Andrew Gresham is an American oboe player, reedmaker, and a current student of Dr. Margaret Marco at the University of Kansas. His performance career spans across the US in cities big and small. His former teachers include Dr. Larry Timm, Jonathan Marzluf, James Ryon, Jack Harel, and Dwight Parry.

For over 15 years, Andrew has been making oboe reeds while studying with some of the finest oboe reedmakers and performers in the music world.

Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Performance from the University of North Texas, a Master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Akron, a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Fullerton and a Performance Certificate from Bowling Green State University.

In addition to his reed-making, Andrew tutors and offers oboe lessons to the local Lawrence/Kansas City community and also online.

Andrew is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Kansas studying with Dr. Margaret Marco.

ADVANCED OBOE REED

Designed for the professional or advanced oboist, this reed produces a warm, rich tone with a dark tone quality, while giving enough resistance to project a full and round sound.

Reeds for all your needs.

I choose hard cane because it makes reeds lasts longer, and gives them more sound projection. I gouge my own cane from a trusted source and use only the best cane for my reeds. And I’ve discovered a way to make a stable and beautiful sounding reed consistently with the utmost attention to tone quality, intonation, and response.
